The continuous, scientific and interdisciplinary processing of trends in Islamist radicalisation and of developments in the field of deradicalisation is an important focus of the scientific support of the „Radicalisation advice centre“ of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
Amongst others the BAMF Research Centre works closely with FoPraTEx staff, who are responsible for research and practice transfer in the field of Islamist extremism. The basis of FoPraTEx is a network of academic staff, which is set up and coordinated by the Research Centre. The network is based at various civil society and state advice centres that are active in working with suspected Islamist radicalised persons. Its core task is the scientific support of advice centres. Its unique feature is the direct link between science and practice on the ground.
