Your tasks:
1. Responsible for developing and implementing Violence Prevention Network’s international vision and strategic objectives in partnership with the CEO
- Drive international strategic, business and product development
- Act in communication and negotiations of project contracts
- Represent Violence Prevention Network with key international stakeholders and in public communications to broaden visibility and impact
2. Responsible for leading the internationalisation within the organisation
- Manage all international staff (5-10)
- Collaborate with department heads to coordinate the international work of other colleagues (20-30)
- Continue the development of systems and processes internationally
- Manage financial planning and budgeting in coordination with the finance department
3. Accountable for international projects, contracts, and grants
- Lead international project managers and teams to fulfil contracts on budget, on time, and to high quality
- Represent Violence Prevention Network in communication and negotiations of project contracts, MoUs and/or other contractual arrangements with donors and relevant stakeholders
- Support international project managers in key stakeholder meetings with donors, partners, and consultants
Your profile:
1. Your work experience is at least 6 years of experience in the field of CT-P/CVE including some experience working in or with non-profit organsiations.
- You have expertise in one of the following sub-fields of CT-P/CVE: prisons and probation, deradicalisation and rehabilitation, or online prevention interventions.
- You have a Master’s degree in a relevant thematic field (e.g. sociology, political science or social science).
- It is an asset if you can prove experience in working with practitioners and local cooperation partners to develop projects, practices and recommendations to prevent and counter radicalisation and provide references for activities (development of projects, practices or recommendations) involving practitioners.
2. You have at least 6 years of experience as project manager, including project delivery, quality control and conflict resolution, experience in complex projects of at least € 500.000 per year, involving other teams, partners, and consultants from at least 5 different countries.
- You have a proven track record in developing business with public sector donors, including with the European Commission, project acquisition, product and strategic development.
- You have a proven track record in delivering high quality outputs to different stakeholders.
- You have experience with agile project management and working in flat hierarchies – at the same time you are able to set priorities for the department and to coordinate tasks and roles in the team.
3. You have experience in managing international teams of at least 10 people. Experience in managing hybrid teams is a strong asset.
- You have strong ability to shape and implement a shared vision with a team. You have experience in strategic development, team development and building external partnerships.
- You are able to identify personal skillsets and strengths of different team members and provide leadership in team development processes.
- You have experience in working in or with an NGO and identify with the values and theory of change of Violence Prevention Network and other civil society organisations working in the P/CVE landscape.
- You have considerable talent for communication, reliability, authenticity, empathy, intercultural competence and the ability to manage conflicts.
- You possess strong communication skills as well as a pragmatic, proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
4. You are based in Berlin (Germany) or London (UK).
- You are capable of expressing yourself confidently both verbally and in writing in English (C2) and German (C1). Other languages are an asset for a variety of target groups. English native language is a strong asset.
- You are motivated to work in a dynamic, international and demanding environment and are available to travel regularly.
- Software knowledge (comprehensive knowledge in word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, Webex).
- You have professional experience in research and/or policy (editing and writing of academic papers, policy papers, etc.).
